From 6th January 2025, midwives at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust can start registering pregnant women to receive a free baby pack if their baby is due after 7th of April 2025. The earliest we can deliver the packs is the end of March 2025 as this is when the launch of packs begins.

You will receive your baby pack about 4 weeks before your due date. First deliveries start week commencing 24th March 2025.

To be eligible for the baby pack, the mother must be a Rotherham resident and provide a valid Rotherham address.

Only midwives in Rotherham can register mothers for a baby pack. This can be done from 25 weeks of pregnancy onwards.

The baby pack contains 26 items including neutral-coloured clothing, a toy, a book, and other useful items for the first six months. It comes in a sturdy storage box that can become a memory box once the baby has outgrown the items. The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust and Rotherham Council have agreed the contents are suitable and safe for this age group.

You will receive one baby pack for each newborn. So, if you have twins you will receive two and so on.

Once the midwife registers you on the portal you will receive an email from baby@rotherhambabypack.co.uk confirming your order has been received. If you have been registered and you have not received an email confirmation, please call the helpline on 08000443844.

All Rotherham residents are assigned a Rotherham Community Midwife, even if you have chosen to give birth in a neighbouring hospital.

If you ask your midwife about the scheme, they will be able to let you know when they can register you, which is normally at your 25-week appointment.
